At their best, standardized tests offer a valuable learning opportunity for students by providing a well-defined set of topics worth mastering in the fundamental areas of English, math, reading, and science. Indeed, the tight focus of the tests on a limited number of areas provides an excellent feedback mechanism for studying and then mastering these topics. During the tutoring process, students have the opportunity to learn and control a number of key skills in each subject area of the test.
